33 Weeks

I am officially 33 weeks. I went to the Doctor yesterday and he said that he was very happy with my weight. I have gained 28 pounds. He said most women at my stage are 32 lbs so I am very happy with that! This little boy is very active. I have 7 weeks to go and I am sooooo ready!

This weekend we are headed to Houston for the Velek Family Shower and to do Christmas with Adam's father and brother. I am excited about it. It will be our last trip out of town before we have little Jaxson. I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Christmas Pics

Adam & I got some Christmas Pictures taken. I really like the way they turned out. It is crazy that Christmas is less than a week away! This year has flown by. It has been very interesting. It started out so bad for us and is ending so good! I feel so blessed. I know that no matter what happens in life, God will always take care of you as long as you trust and put your faith into him. With a wonderful husband, a baby on the way, wonderful family, and being healthy....I have a lot to be thankful for. Now, if Feb. 20th can hurry up and come!

Christmas Party

I am officially 30 weeks pregnant. I feel like I could pop right now! It is pretty uncomfortable right now. He seems to like my right side just under my ribs. Bending over is out of the question and Adam is getting tired of pulling off my boots everyday & cleaning the cat box! I feel short breathed all of the time and my back is hurting. I guess I know what they mean about the 2nd trimester being the "honeymoon" stage!

Last night Adam & I attended our work Christmas Party. It was at the Fredonia Hotel here in Nacogdoches. It was very nice! The tall guy in the middle of us is our boss.

Thanksgiving

Adam & I went to Cedar Hill for Thanksgiving this year. It was really great! We ate lots of food and watched lots of football! My brother & his wife & kids came over Thursday for the big meal that mom cooked. It was awesome! Friday, mom & I shopped and then we all went to the movies and saw Austrailla. It is worth seeing in the theater but very long. Saturday, we headed back home to Nacogdoches. Sunday, we went to chuch and hung up Christmas lights. I have to say that it has been an eventful holiday!

This week I go back to the Doctor and get the Rhogam shot since I have the RH Factor (google it!). I also get my gestational diabetes test done too. I am glad that this test is after Thanksgiving so that I have no regrets!

A Little Scare!

Last Tuesday we had a little scare. I had a sinus infection & somehow got pink eye. I went to my Family Practioner and he gave me a steroid shot, eye drops, and a ZPac. About 2 hours later, I started having really bad stomach cramps about 1 minute apart. I called my OBGYN and he said to meet him at Labor & Delivery (the hospital). Adam rushed me there and they hooked my up to some monitors. Luckily, it was only the medicine. We thought we were going into early labor. Thank goodness little Jaxson wasn't ready. He needs to bake in the oven a couple of more months! I am feeling good now and he is kicking like crazy!

Jenny's Baby Shower

This past weekend I threw my good friend Jenny Davis a baby shower at my house. She is having a little girl and is due 5 weeks before me. The shower was wonderful!

6 month Check up

I went to the doctor for my 6 month check up. I was shocked when they told me that I have gained 20 lbs! My doctor said that was normal and that he was very happy with that. I just didn't think it was that much! Scary! He said that I would probably gain another 15-20 more lbs before I have the baby! I am really going to have to work hard to get this body looking like it did when I was in college! (Let me dream!) I go back next month and do the gestational diabetes test and I get the Rhogam shot since I have the RH Factor.

I'm an Aunt!

Taylor Grace Velek entered this world on Oct. 27th. Proud parents are Aaron & Courtney Velek (Adam's brother). Courtney was induced on Monday morning at the Women's Hospital in Houston. From the stories that I have heard, I think she had a pretty good labor. Mom & baby are now home and doing wonderful! Congratulations Aaron & Court! Yall are going to be great parents!

My Dallas Weekend

This past weekend I went to Dallas to visit my Mom. My Dad went out of town for the weekend to an Antique Toy Show in Chicago so it was a good opportunity to hang out with my Mom and get some needed shopping done! We also saw the play "Tuna goes to Vegas" at the Bass Performance Hall in Ft. Worth. After that, we went to my brother's church where they were having a Fall Festival. We got to see my adorable nephews. All in all, it was a great weekend!

Round Up 2008

This weekend we went to a friend's house that does an annual roundup. It was so neat to see all of the cowboys. They start the day with a pancake breakfast. Then at noon, they do a shooting contest. We had BBQ for dinner and then they had a talent show. The movie clip is one of the skits. It was soooo funny! After that, they had fireworks and then a live band. It was really neat. Everybody brought their kids and it was a true Cowboy Family Affair!

IT'S A BOY!

We found out yesterday that we are having a Son!!! I was even more excited to hear that everything was developing good and that the baby looked healthy. When the sonogram tech told us that it was a boy, Adam's face was priceless! I think every daddy wants a little hunting buddy!

Courtney's Shower

This past weekend we threw Courtney and Aaron a baby shower. It was really nice. They got a lot of nice things. It was a Country Fried Chicken dinner with all kinds of pie!

Another Prego Pic

I really didn't like the last picture of my fat stomach. I trying to take one every week. It's crazy to see how much I have grown in just a matter of weeks! I still haven't felt any movement. Everybody keeps telling me that I probably have and just don't know it. We go to the Doctor next Monday and we will find out if it's a boy or a girl. I can't wait!

19 Weeks!

I am 19 weeks now! Almost half way! We find out on October 6 what we are having. I got the results back from my screen test and everything tested good. I am very happy about that. I am also not feeling sick anymore which is great! I still get headaches but it's not too bad.

Things have been crazy with hurricane Ike. We lost power for 3 days. Luckily, the weather has been awesome so that is nice! My father-in-law lives in Galveston and he had a lot of damage to his house. I hope that is the last hurricane we endure for a long time! I never would have thought that we would see part of it being in Nacogdoches!

17 Week Appointment

We went to the Doctor today and everything went good! We are 17 weeks and we heard the baby's heartbeat. It was beating very loud and fast. It sounded very strong. They also took blood to test for abnormal chromosomes. We should get the results next week. I have read a lot about this and test and have heard that it's just a screening and doesn't always give accurate results. Either way, I will feel better when I get the results. We go back to the Doctor on October 6 and they will do a sonogram. That is also when we can find out the sex of the baby. After much discussion, I don't think that Adam & I are going to find out. It is exciting to not know and find out the day we have it. We will see how long we can hold out!

On another note, we are all keeping our fingers crossed on Hurricane Ike. I am hoping that it doesn't hit Houston. We are headed down there this weekend for Courtney's (My sister-in-law) baby shower. She is due less than 2 months! We are also planning on going baby furniture shopping.

Sonograms

Here are the 2 ultrasounds that I have had. The first picture is when I was 9 weeks. The second picture is when I was 12 weeks. I am almost 16 weeks! I can't wait to see how big the baby will be in the next sonogram!

Sick???

I am almost 15 weeks. I thought that this would be the honeymoon stages but I was wrong! This past week, I have thrown up 4 times! The most recent being yesterday (Monday). It's crazy! Everybody says that being sick is a good sign so that's comforting to hear!

First time to Blog!

Blogging seems to be the thing to do now when you are expecting so I figured I would join the club! We are 14 weeks pregnant and very excited! We have prayed very hard and I feel really good about this baby. I know that God will take care of us no matter what! I go back to the Doctor on Sept. 9 and I guess I will have my first test done. It's nice to be in my 2nd trimester and not feel sick and tired all of the time! I hope everyone enjoys reading this and stays updated!
